Several companies and research institutions will develop new energy technology with support from the Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Programme (EUDP). 104 applications have been received in the first round of the year with a total support requirement of DKK 881 million. This is stated by the Danish Energy Agency in a press release.

With a pool of DKK 300 million and two special pools totalling DKK 47 million, applications have been made for more than 2.5 times the available funds. Only slightly more than a third of the projects can therefore expect to receive support.

- We see a continued great interest in developing and demonstrating new energy technology in Denmark. This shows that there is significant innovation potential in the area, says EUDP CEO Lars Barkler.

Among this year's applications, for the first time, there are projects under a special pool for Smart Energy and Digitalisation, which have received 16 applications with a total support requirement of DKK 74 million. The pool is 24.75 million DKK, which means that approximately one third of the applicants can expect support.

Another special pool, the North Sea Pool, which focuses on more environmentally friendly oil and gas production, has received applications for 39 million DKK, while 22.6 million DKK has been allocated for the purpose.

EUDP also supports Danish companies and research institutions in international cooperation under the IEA. In this round, there are 27 applications with a total support need of 27 million DKK from the general pool of 300 million DKK.

The applications are distributed as follows:
- EUDP: 57 projects are applying for 741 million DKK.

- IEA cooperation: 27 collaborations are applying for 27 million DKK. DKK
- Smart Energy and Digitalisation Fund: 16 projects apply for DKK 74 million.
- North Sea Fund: 4 projects apply for DKK 39 million.
