The Danish offshore wind giant Ørsted is close to selling a large part of its two offshore wind projects in Taiwan, Changhua 2a and Changua 2b, which together have a capacity of 623 megawatts. This is reported by Finans based on two announcements from the financial company Cathay to the Taiwan Stock Exchange.

According to the announcement, Cathay will buy 55 percent of Ørsted's two offshore wind projects for up to 34 billion Taiwanese dollars, equivalent to around 7 billion DKK.

Ørsted has not wished to comment on the matter, but informs Finans that the offshore wind company is still working on the transaction with Cathay and will provide an update when the agreement is signed. The company has also previously announced that the goal is to announce the divestment of Changhua 2a and 2b before the end of the year.
