Interest alone is no longer enough to get citizens to switch to district heating. At Glostrup Forsyning, they are experiencing that more potential customers are dropping out along the way, which according to the company requires a more active and persistent effort to get the agreements in place. This is what Energy Supply writes.
- People are not as interested in district heating as they were three years ago. When the gas price was high, we were up to around 90 percent support – now interest has dropped again, says CEO Bo Nybro Nørbjerg to the media.
The utility company is in the process of significantly expanding the district heating network, with around 2,700 properties to be connected in the period 2022-2027. However, the director states that fewer citizens than expected end up entering into a final agreement, even though many have previously expressed their interest.
