Southeast Zealand is in the midst of extensive electrification, and this is putting pressure on the electricity grid. That is why the grid company Cerius is now investing over 100 million DKK in a major upgrade of the electricity distribution grid in the area around Faxe. Cerius states this in a press release.

– The electricity distribution grid is the foundation of an electrified society, and as a grid company we must constantly ensure that our cables and transformer stations can meet the needs of our customers. That is why we are now spending over 100 million DKK on upgrading the electricity distribution grid in the area around Faxe, says Frederik Dalgård Andersen, Planning Manager at Cerius.

The operating company Nexel is responsible for the expansion. The company is establishing a new substation at Faxe in collaboration with H&MV Engineering, while removing overhead lines and burying many kilometers of new high-voltage cables.

- This project contains many elements so that we can prepare to connect many new customers to the electricity distribution network in the area. The expansion of the infrastructure is crucial, because we can see that the projections of consumption in the area show significant growth, and it is important that we constantly ensure that the electricity distribution network can keep up with the development, says Hans Grundtvig Lindrum, head of construction projects at Nexel.

The work is already underway, and the majority is expected to be completed during the coming year. The entire project is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.
