CS Wind Offshore in Aalborg has completed its last order in the US market and is now without new contracts in the US. This is due to President Donald Trump's course towards offshore wind, where several projects have been slowed down or completely blocked. The company's latest US order included 176 so-called transition pieces. The last 18 units have just been shipped from the Port of Aalborg to Virginia, and thus the last US offshore delivery has been completed. This is reported by Nordjyske.
- We are dependent on how the offshore industry performs. We are subcontractors to the project developers, says Knud Bjarne Hansen, vice chairman of the board of directors at CS Wind Offshore.
Although there are no new orders in the US, the company does not expect to have to lay off employees in Denmark. CS Wind estimates that the declining activity in the US market will be offset by increasing demand in Europe. At the same time, the company's US factory with around 800 employees continues to produce towers for onshore wind, which continues to experience high activity as the area is regulated by the individual states.
