In November last year, Vestas announced both layoffs at the company's factory in Ringkøbing, but also that it expected to hire 300 new employees distributed across the group's factories in Lem, Lindø and Nakskov. At the factory in Lindø, the expectation was 150 new employees, which would mean that there would be a total of 550 at the factory. However, it looks like there will be significantly more, writes Fyens Stiftstidende.
- The speed of the green transition and the development in demand for wind turbines require that we constantly adapt our factories. In order to meet the demand for offshore wind in the markets around Denmark, we will therefore increase our overall activity and employee level in our production, says Poul Clausen, factory manager for Vestas at the Port of Odense.
The factory manager says that the recruitment of the 150 employees is already underway and that "the factory hopes to be able to hire significantly more employees before the end of the year than has already been announced". However, he will not give a specific number. According to information from Fyens Stiftstidende, there are several hundred new employees at the Funen factory. Vestas does not want to confirm or deny this information either.
