The corona crisis has hit Siemens Gamesa hard, with the third-quarter financial statements directly relating a drop of DKK 692 million in revenue to the corona crisis, Siemens Gamesa informs.

Overall, Siemens Gamesa has presented a net loss of DKK 3.5 billion in the quarter, with revenue falling by DKK 1.65 billion compared to the third quarter of 2019.

It has been a challenging quarter on several fronts for Siemens Gamesa, which, in addition to the global corona crisis, has experienced challenges in the onshore market. Here, the markets in India and Mexico have been facing headwinds, and the implementation of several projects in Northern Europe has been hit by problems, according to Siemens Gamesa.

The challenges for Siemens Gamesa have also led to changes in management, with Markus Tacke being fired in mid-June and replaced by offshore manager Andreas Nauen.

Siemens Gamesa suspended its expectations for the 2020 financial statements back in April due to the uncertainties associated with the corona crisis.

- The long-term outlook for our company remains promising, and we have the technology and people to play an important role in developing a recovery underpinned by sustainable energy, says CEO Andreas Nauen.
