Siemens Energy is considering buying the last third of one of Vestas' worst competitors, Siemens Gamesa. The company announced this in a statement.

"The management is considering a cash purchase offer for all outstanding shares in Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA with the intention of delisting the company," the statement from Siemens Energy reads. It further reads:

"The outcome of these considerations is still unknown. No decision has been made, and there is no certainty that the transaction will take place."

According to the American media Bloomberg News, an offer will probably be on the table next week.

Siemens Energy currently owns 67 percent of Siemens Gamesa. The wind turbine company has suffered from large losses for several years and has also lowered its expectations for the annual result this year.
