The EU's enormous recovery fund is getting ready to send very large amounts of money to the European member states to help kick-start the recovery in Europe. At the same time, however, it is a requirement that at least 30 percent of the recovery funds must be directed towards the green transition.
In Poland, the government has just approved its recovery plan, in which the government is allocating a minimum of DKK 30 billion for an upcoming offshore adventure. The money will go towards, among other things, upgrading and expanding ports, green hydrogen and the electricity grid.
Both Ørsted (Baltica 3 and Baltica 2) and Equinor (Baltyk II and Baltyk III) have been awarded CfD contracts this year for their upcoming offshore wind projects in Poland. Poland has set an ambition to reach 5.9 GW of offshore wind by 2030 and up to 11 GW by 2040. In order for these ambitions to be successful, it is necessary to get the infrastructure in place, and the government is now starting to do that.
