Ørsted and PGE have now finally concluded the agreement that gives PGE and Ørsted a 50 percent ownership stake each in the Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 offshore wind projects. Together, the two projects form the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm – the largest offshore wind project in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea, with a total installed capacity of up to 2.5 GW.
- I am pleased that we have established a strong partnership in offshore wind with Poland's leading utility. We will contribute our many years of experience in this new market, where we will deliver green energy, create industrial development and local jobs and help Poland become a leading nation in offshore wind, says Rasmus Errboe, Regional Director for Continental Europe at Ørsted.
Environmental permits have already been obtained and grid connection agreements have been signed for the two offshore wind farms. In addition, the Baltica projects were awarded CfD contracts in April. If Ørsted and PGE make a final investment decision, the 1 GW Baltica 3 could be commissioned in 2026, while the 1.5 GW Baltica 2 could be commissioned before 2030.
