Green Power Denmark has named the three finalists for the Green Power Award 2026. The nominees are the electronics company DEIF, the dairy producer Arla and farmer Peter Nielsen from Vester Jonstrup near Hjørring. The award is given to companies and projects that work to replace fossil fuels with electricity in industry and agriculture, among other things. This is stated by the trade organization in a press release.

- The Green Power Award celebrates companies that strengthen competitiveness and our independence by replacing fossil energy with electricity. Oil and gas prices have again risen significantly, while the wind has blown and the sun has shone over Europe. This means that companies that replace unstable fossil energy with green power from wind and sun are simply stronger. That is why we need more people to electrify, says Kristian Jensen, CEO of Green Power Denmark.

Arla is nominated, among other things, for investments of around DKK 600 million in the electrification of dairy production. The company has replaced natural gas with heat pumps and electric boilers and reduced its emissions in Scope 1 and 2 by 44 percent compared to 2015.

DEIF is nominated for its factory in Skive, where natural gas has been replaced by a heat pump and a groundwater-based system for heating and cooling. At the same time, the company uses solar cells and is working to establish a wind turbine at the factory.

Peter Nielsen is nominated for having built up an electric machinery park on his farm at Vester Jonstrup. In 2025, he invested in Denmark's first electric tractor, which is part of the daily operation together with other electric machines.

Last year, the Avedøre A.M.B.A. Energy Community won the award for its work in engaging citizens and local actors in the green transition in Hvidovre.

The winner of the Green Power Prize 2026 will be announced on May 19th at the Green Power Denmark summit
