Artificial intelligence burdens municipalities with incorrectly filled complaints

Around every fifth complaint that lands on the desk of Jakob Frost, citizen advisor in Silkeborg Municipality, is made with the help of AI. But the complaints often become very long and in many cases filled with errors and misinformation when citizens use artificial intelligence. This is reported by DR.

- It takes a specialist in the municipality a whole day, maybe two days, to deal with all of the 40 or 50 complaints that a citizen submits in this way, says Jakob Frost. It is a problem that also applies to administrations in Copenhagen, Aarhus and Randers, among others.

The Danish Complaints Board is also experiencing an increasing number of complaints made with artificial intelligence and also informs DR that in several cases artificial intelligence invents or guesses facts. This may, for example, be evident in the AI tool referring to statements from the Ombudsman or case law that turn out to be incorrect.
