The Trump administration is continuing its efforts to slow down the New England 1 wind farm off the coast of Massachusetts, writes Bloomberg News. According to a court document, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has asked a federal judge to send a central permit back for further review.
This comes after the government signaled in September that it would reconsider approving the project. Upon his inauguration in January, Trump also made it clear that he wanted to put an end to the installation of offshore wind turbines.
Two stop orders followed, including one affecting Ørsted's American project Revolution Wind, which was otherwise 80 percent completed, but work has since resumed. The government has also taken steps to revoke permits for several other offshore wind projects that have not yet started, writes Bloomberg News.
