Ørsted can apparently breathe a sigh of relief regarding the completion of the offshore wind project Revolution Wind. The Trump administration has exceeded the deadline to appeal a ruling that lifted the order to halt construction of the offshore wind project, which can thus continue as planned. This is reported by DR Nyheder.

In September, US judge Royce Lamberth annulled the government's decision to halt construction, which had previously been justified on the grounds of national security interests. The 60-day appeal deadline expired on Friday without a reaction from the US government, which was confirmed by Connecticut's Attorney General, William Tong, to several US media.

- The Trump administration is rightly choosing not to continue defending the indefensible. Trump's unpredictable actions were the ultimate example of arbitrary and unethical governance, and their decision not to pursue this defense is further confirmation of that, says William Tong.

Ørsted states in a brief comment that the company will continue to maintain dialogue with the US government and other stakeholders to find a final solution to the matter. Revolution Wind, of which Ørsted owns half, will supply power to around 350,000 American homes when the project is completed.
