The Conservatives, Liberal Alliance, Danish People's Party and the Danish Democrats will have prepared an exit plan in the upcoming election period for how and when the state can sell its shares in Ørsted. The parties point out that last year the state participated with 30 billion. DKK in a capital increase of a total of 60 billion. DKK in the energy company – a decision that the four parties voted against. They no longer believe that it makes sense for the state to own the company, which today has the majority of its growth abroad. This is reported by Finans.

- It goes without saying that the state cannot just sell its shares tomorrow, as the country is now. It will just cost taxpayers even more money. But an exit plan must be drawn up so that over time we can sell the state's shares in a responsible and justifiable manner, says Mona Juul, who is the chairwoman of the Conservative Party.

According to the parties, a possible plan should involve a division of Ørsted, where the socially critical infrastructure such as power plants either remains in the hands of the state or is transferred to another Danish company. The blue parties also emphasize that a sale should only take place when the share price is more favorable. Ørsted shares have fallen by around 70 percent over the past five years to approximately DKK 150, which according to Finans makes a quick sale risky. According to the media, Venstre has not rejected selling the state's ownership stake. As recently as the last election campaign in 2022, Venstre proposed selling the state's ownership in Ørsted's wind turbine business to finance parts of an investment of DKK 60 billion. DKK in the green transition towards 2030.
