There is a revolving door of directors at Green Power Denmark. In recent months, deputy directors Mette Rose Skaksen and Jan Hylleberg have announced that they are leaving the industry organization to take up director positions at Energi Fyn and the Association of Consulting Engineers, respectively.
The departure of Director of Renewable Energy, PtX and International Cooperation, Camilla Holbech, is not voluntary. She has resigned from her position with immediate effect as part of an ongoing adjustment of the organization. The decision has been made by CEO Kristian Jensen, Green Power Denmark states in a press release.
- I would like to thank Camilla for her dedicated efforts for Green Power Denmark and our members over the past three years. Camilla has fought with insight and commitment for better conditions for wind turbines, solar cells and Power-to-X. She has helped secure the framework for the upcoming hydrogen pipeline to Germany and the large offshore wind turbine tenders. In this way, she has left a major mark on the future energy system in Denmark, says Kristian Jensen.
Camilla Holbech has been employed at Green Power Denmark since April 2023, first as department head and then as a member of the management group. She is upset about the dismissal, but writes in a post on LinkedIn that she understands the decision.
"In connection with the announced adjustments to the organization, it has been decided that I will resign from my position. I am of course sad about that, but I understand the decision. It is difficult to change the membership fee model for a membership association without it affecting operations," she writes, where she also indicates that she does not know where her next job lies, but hopes that it will be in management, wind energy and green transition.
Deputy CEO Jan Hylleberg, who will not take up his new position at the Association of Consulting Engineers until the autumn, will temporarily take over responsibility for Camilla Holbech's areas.
Savings exercise due to reduction in membership fee
Camilla Holbech is the most prominent person to leave Green Power Denmark so far, as a result of savings plans and organizational changes.
These changes are due to a change in the contingent model, which results in less income for the industry organization, Kristian Jensen has previously told EnergiWatch.
The changes are due, among other things, to the fact that several developers, including European Energy and Eurowind, have left the organization in the past year. In January, the industry organization also stated that it had approximately 1,350 members – 150 fewer than the year before.
