In May last year, Fiberline announced that it would close the factory in Middelfart to move production to India, but retain the development department on Funen. But now the development department on Funen is also being closed, and production in India is also being stopped. Previously, it was announced that 120 employees on Funen would lose their jobs by the end of May 2025, but now it appears that a further 40 employees in the development department will also be laid off. It is reported Fyens Stiftstidende.

The 100 remaining production employees will now be laid off as early as mid-April, six weeks earlier than planned. The last ones in the development department are expected to be laid off before the end of the year. Fiberline has particularly specialized in composite beams for offshore wind turbines, but the falling demand from the largest customers has had consequences. Mick Dirckinck-Holmfeld, HR manager at Fiberline, explains that the company's more expensive products, despite higher quality, have difficulty competing with the low prices of Chinese manufacturers. The Swiss owners Gurit, however, are ready to restart production in India if the market turns around.

- When the market turns around and the Chinese cannot cover the entire demand, we are ready to restart production in India. We have retained its employees, who have been transferred to one of Gurit's other production units in the city, says Mick Dirckinck-Holmfeld.
