The work to remove the wind turbine blade that broke off a 150-meter-high wind turbine at the Port of Hirtshals earlier in March, got underway on Tuesday. The blade broke on Wednesday, March 3, when Eurowind Energy's computer system registered that something was wrong with the turbine. However, the blade did not fall to the ground and no one was injured. Since the incident, work has been underway to find the cause of the break, but it has not been found yet, writes TV2 Nord.

- This is by no means an everyday occurrence, said Joachim Steenstrup, communications director at Eurowind Energy, when the blade broke.

According to TV2 Nord, the expectation is that the wind turbine will be back in operation by the summer at the latest. It is a 4.2 megawatt Vestas wind turbine, which can produce electricity equivalent to the annual consumption of 20,000 households.
