Nordex Group has received an order for a total of 49 MW for a new wind farm in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The order includes the delivery of seven N175/6.X wind turbines with a hub height of 179 meters for the Heek-Strönfeld project, which is being developed by Bürgerwind Heek-Strönfeld GmbH & Co. KG. This is stated by Nordex Group in a press release.
In addition to the delivery of the turbines, the agreement also includes a Premium Service Agreement for 25 years, which is intended to ensure stable operation of the turbines in the long term. The installation of the turbines is planned for the second quarter of 2027, while the commissioning of the wind farm is expected in the third quarter of the same year. The wind farm is organized as a local citizen project. In addition to landowners and local citizens, the municipality of Heek, the local church congregation and the energy cooperative Ahaus-Heek-Legden eG, which represents more than 1,300 citizens, are also participating.
- The community project in Heek shows what is possible when all stakeholders come together: It reduces dependence on fossil energy imports, creates regional value creation and produces renewable electricity not only sustainably, but also cost-effectively and robustly in times of crisis, says Christoph Wischemann, CEO of Bürgerwind Heek-Strönfeld GmbH & Co. KG.
