The last few financial statements at Siemens Gamesa have not been good reading. One loss has followed another, and according to the preliminary financial figures for the first quarter of the company's staggered financial year 2022/2023, things are not much better.
The wind turbine manufacturer has therefore issued a press release on Thursday evening, stating that the operating profit (EBIT) is expected to end up at a loss of 760 billion euros, equivalent to approximately 5.7 billion kroner.
According to Siemens Gamesa, a large part of the loss is due to a newly discovered component fault. What the fault entails in more detail is not specified, but it leads to higher costs in the form of component replacements and earlier service than expected. All in all, this has a negative impact on the result of 472 million euros - approximately 3.5 billion kroner. DKK
The most positive thing in the preliminary accounts is an increase in revenue of approximately 200 million euros to 2.0 billion euros. In addition, the wind turbine manufacturer can see new orders in the quarter for 1.6 billion euros, which brings the total order backlog to 33.7 billion euros.
Siemens Games will present its final accounts for the first quarter on February 2.
