Semco Maritime and Vietnamese PTSC Mechanical & Construction (PTSC M&C) have secured a major EPC contract from Synera Renewable Energy (SRE) for the design, procurement, manufacture and commissioning of an offshore substation for the Formosa 4 offshore wind farm off the coast of Taiwan.

The agreement, which was signed at the end of August 2025, marks a new milestone for the consortium, which has also previously delivered projects in Taiwan.

Delivery of the substation is expected by the end of 2027.

Semco Maritime will be responsible for the engineering, procurement and commissioning of the electrical systems, while PTSC M&C will be responsible for the manufacture of the topside and the procurement of equipment and materials, which will be produced at the company's shipyard in Vietnam.

- Semco Maritime and PTSC M&C are excited to be awarded the Formosa 4 substation. We are proud that SRE has entrusted our consortium with this project, and we will draw on our shared experience in Taiwan to deliver a fantastic result and contribute to the continued development of the Taiwanese offshore wind industry, says Thomas Thomsen, Senior Vice President Renewables at Semco Maritime.

At PTSC M&C, Director To Ngoc Tu highlights that the contract is another milestone in the partnership between the two companies, which have already completed the Hai Long project and are working on the Feng Miao project.
