The energy and consulting group NRGi is expanding its portfolio of renewable energy plants with four onshore wind turbines - three near Skive, while the fourth is located north of Aalborg.
With the purchase of four onshore wind turbines, NRGi is taking another step towards its ambition of being able to supply its own customers with renewable energy from its own plants. The wind turbines have a total capacity of 11.3 MW and produce 33,600 MWh annually, equivalent to the consumption of around 7,500 Danish households.
This means that NRGi Renewables, which operates and develops solar and wind projects for the NRGi group and Sampension, can now produce a total of 489,000 MWh from its own renewable energy plants. And it is an important part of the company's long-term strategy, says Jakob Bundgaard, CEO of NRGi Renewables:
- With the purchase of the four onshore wind turbines, we are taking an important step in our work to deliver more electricity from renewable sources to our customers. We are working purposefully both to develop and install new plants, while acquiring existing projects that can support our production needs and contribute to a future where we become less dependent on fossil fuels, he says.
Looking for more projects
The purchase of the four onshore wind turbines follows shortly after NRGi's inauguration of East Jutland's largest solar park on Djursland, which can produce 136,000 MWh annually, which is enough for approximately 34,000 households.
NRGi Renewables also continues to seek new opportunities to expand its portfolio of renewable energy plants.
- We have a clear ambition to be a significant player when it comes to the expansion of renewable energy in Denmark. And the acquisition is an important step in a larger effort, where we expand our portfolio both through the development and construction of new solar and wind projects and through the acquisition of existing plants, says Jakob Bundgaard.
