Nine companies receive DKK 420 million to establish factory facilities and expand projects

Seven projects have received support from the Investment Scheme for Green Industrial Production. The support means that companies can invest DKK 3 billion and create up to 500 jobs.

For the second time, the Danish Export and Investment Fund (EIFO) has invested money from the green investment scheme that the government introduced in 2024. In total, support has been pledged for seven projects, and a total of DKK 422 million in support will be provided, according to the Ministry of Business and Industry.

- The world has changed. China is roaring into the green sector with gigantic state support programs. This calls for action if Denmark and our green industry are not to fall seriously behind in the fight for the jobs of the future. That is why we are now giving our green position of strength a massive boost, says Minister of Business and Industry Morten Bødskov (S).

Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities Lars Aagaard also emphasizes the need for investment in the Danish energy industry to withstand pressure from abroad.

 - When other countries invest so massively with state aid in green industry, we cannot just stand by and watch. I myself am not in favor of using this tool too much. But here we are using the scheme for what it was created for. To turbocharge the green transition, while at the same time supporting Danish jobs, industry and competitiveness, he says.

Support for more small and medium-sized enterprises

Among the nine industrial enterprises that all work with wind turbines and electrolysis are, among others, BSB Industry, CS Wind Offshore, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, Liftra and Euro Steel Danmark.

- The money in the investment scheme is currently helping to finance a number of smaller projects in small and medium-sized enterprises. This is an adjustment to the scheme that we have been calling for. Small and medium-sized enterprises are enormously important for the Danish energy industry. They create jobs and development throughout the country, says Jan Hylleberg.

The support means, for example, that BSB Industry can expand production of offshore wind turbine components, while CS Wind Offshore in Aalborg can increase production capacity of transition pieces that protect wind turbine foundations at sea.

And while EIFO is now providing a helping hand with the support, the investments provide a boost to the companies, which are ready to invest themselves, which will bring the total investments for the selected projects to DKK 3 billion.

- For every krone that the state provides in support, the companies themselves invest more than DKK 6. This is clear proof that there is faith in the future and a willingness to invest among the companies, says Jan Hylleberg, Deputy CEO of Green Power Denmark.

The investments will also help create more jobs locally. According to the Ministry of Business, Industry and Trade, the seven projects will create up to 500 jobs, especially in Western Denmark.
