It has become significantly more expensive to buy cables and other materials for electrical work in recent years.
Since 2021, electrical materials have increased by 28 percent and are now at a record high, according to today's new figures from Statistics Denmark.
- For companies, it is a challenge when material prices continue to rise. It is simply difficult to explain to customers why a given task has become so much more expensive in just a few years, says Maria Schougaard Berntsen, deputy director of Tekniq, which organizes companies in the technical business community. She continues:
- The risk is that customers will refrain from investing in the green solutions that are necessary for the sustainable transformation of society.
According to the deputy director, part of the explanation is the geopolitical actions of, among others, China, which have affected copper prices in recent years.
- The individual company cannot change this, and for the same reason we are positive about the extension of the heat pump pool and the abolition of the electricity tax, so that prices do not take the breath out of the green transformation, says Maria Schougaard Berntsen.
