Solar cell company Better Energy must now send four subsidiaries that were behind the solar cell project Vamdrup in South Jutland into bankruptcy proceedings. This is reported by Finans.dk. The project companies include Solpark Vamdrup, Solpark Vamdrup Komplementar as well as Ejendomsselskabet Vamdrup and Ejendomsselskabet Vamdrup Komplementar, which has solely worked on the development of the solar cell park. The park was planned to cover 510 hectares and supply electricity to almost 100,000 households.

According to trustee Teis Gullitz-Wormslev from Kroman Reumert, the bankruptcy petitions are due to the current market situation and the reconstruction of Better Energy Holding A/S, which went into reconstruction in December last year. The properties, which the companies have purchased for over 240 million DKK, will now be put up for sale via a broker, and it is uncertain whether the solar park will ever be realized.

The project is also under financial pressure - including from Vestjyske Bank, which has demanded repayment of loans of 135 million DKK, according to the real estate company Vamdrup's accounts for 2024, which means that the subsidiary will end up with a total debt of 281 million DKK. Finans has tried to get a comment from Better Energy, but the company has not returned the inquiry. Adm. CEO Rasmus Lildholdt Kjær has previously stated to mediet that he expects Better Energy to emerge from the reconstruction successfully during 2025.
