ESBJERG: Esbjerg Municipality has been reported to the police for discrimination in connection with plans for six giant wind turbines at Kærbøl. According to JydskeVestkysten is a neighbor of the project who has filed the complaint, as he believes that the municipality has made compensation agreements that benefit individual citizens financially. Through access to documents, the newspaper has confirmed that the police report is part of the complaint case against the municipality.
The neighbor who has complained lives 108 meters outside the boundary that entitles him to a special compensation scheme, which has been negotiated for 10 neighbors close to the wind turbines. He has therefore been referred to the general depreciation scheme, which he says he does not get anything out of.
Deputy Director of Technology & Environment Peer Rexen emphasizes that Esbjerg Municipality has only followed the legal framework and played a facilitating role in the process. He calls the police report groundless and maintains that the model ensures both local support and the opportunity to realize the project: "The depreciation scheme sets clear frameworks and limits for where we as an authority can focus," he tells the media, among other things.
