Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex has secured its first order in Spain for the new N175/6.X turbine. The order comes from Madrid-based energy producer Abei Energy, which has ordered eight turbines for the Avellanosa wind farm in the Castile and León region.
The agreement covers a total of 50 megawatts and a 20-year Premium Service contract to ensure stable operation and maximum energy production over time. The turbines, which will be installed on steel towers with a hub height of 119 meters, are scheduled to be installed in late summer 2026. The idea is for the farm to be put into operation in early 2027.
According to Nordex's sales director in Spain, Francisco Cejudo, the turbine type is particularly well suited to the Spanish wind conditions and is expected to play a central role in future projects:
- The turbine type is ideal for the Spanish conditions. We are confident that this turbine - once the permits are in place - will deliver the best results for our customers and become an important piece in future wind projects in the country.
