New York Governor Kathy Hochul has launched a new tender for onshore wind and solar projects, directing state agencies to accelerate projects that are ready to go live. The goal is to meet the growing demand for renewable energy and leverage existing federal tax credits. Renews writes.
- By directing our state agencies to get projects over the finish line, we are taking advantage of every opportunity to use federal incentives, reduce costs for consumers, and build a more resilient, sustainable, and reliable energy grid, said Kathy Hochul.
The state says the tender is expected to create more than $5 billion in clean energy investments and more than 2,500 jobs. The initiative is part of a comprehensive effort to accelerate projects and strengthen New York's energy supply, economy and climate goals.
