The local resistance to solar cells and wind turbines is now being organized at the national level. This happened over the weekend, when citizen groups met in Silkeborg with the aim of forming a national association, writes DR.
- We are forming an alliance of local resistance groups so that our voices are heard when municipalities and companies plan large renewable energy plants, says Henriette Toftegaard, who is one of the initiators of the national association and is running for the city council for the Conservatives in Odder Municipality with opposition to solar cell plants as a key issue. She also points out that the groups have a lot in common, as they all fight for their local areas and nature. Therefore, it makes sense to stand together and strengthen their voice in the public debate.
Another participant in the meeting was Ulrik Iversen, chairman of "Bevar Thy". H calls the national association a clear signal to politicians that the resistance is now nationwide.
