Cadeler has taken delivery of its first A-class vessel, named Wind Ally.

The vessel will be the ninth in Cadeler's fleet of next-generation installation vessels and will now be deployed on Ørsted's Hornsea 3 project in the North Sea.

This also means that Cadeler is for the first time taking on the entire transport and installation task for offshore monopiles.

- With Wind Ally now delivered ahead of schedule and immediately deployed on this landmark project, we are taking a decisive step into a new chapter for Cadeler, says CEO Mikkel Gleerup. He emphasizes that the company has built up the necessary competencies and specialist departments to deliver complete foundation solutions, and that Hornsea 3 will be the first project where this is put into play.

More than three million homes

Wind Ally was built at the Cosco shipyard in China with more than 3.5 million man-hours during construction.

With a load capacity of over 18,000 tonnes, a deck area of 5,600 m2 and a main crane with a capacity of over 3,300 tonnes, the vessel can transport and install up to six XXL monopiles per load.

The hybrid design makes it possible to switch between installing foundations and turbines.

Hornsea 3 will be the world's largest offshore wind farm with a capacity of 2.9 GW, and that is enough to supply more than three million British homes.

- With three Cadeler vessels in operation for both foundation and turbine transport and installation, we are proud to play a central role in Ørsted's ambitious Hornsea 3 project, says Mikkel Gleerup.
