It has only been a short time since Danish Bladt Industries won two contracts, including a record-breaking one, in the American offshore wind market. Now the company has also won a major contract on its home turf.
Vattenfall has chosen Bladt as the supplier of 21 and 20 TPs for the offshore wind farms Vesterhav Nord and Vesterhav Syd, respectively, Bladt Industries said in a press release.
- We are very pleased to have been chosen for another large offshore wind turbine project. This once again underlines our position as the world's largest supplier of offshore wind turbine foundations, says CEO Anders Søe-Jensen from Bladt Industries.
Production will begin in the spring of 2022 and will take place in Bladt Industries' facilities in Aalborg. The TPs will have a height of up to 22.5 meters and a weight of approximately 260 tons each. The entire project is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
The two offshore wind farms, Vesterhav Syd and Vesterhav Nord, will together consist of 41 wind turbines with a total capacity of 350 MW, divided into 170 MW from Vesterhav Syd and 180 MW from Vesterhav Nord. Both offshore wind farms will be located 10 kilometers from the west coast of Jutland near Thyborøn (Vesterhav Nord) and Søndervig (Vesterhav Syd) in a water depth of approximately 20 meters.
