Semco Maritime and Bladt Industries will jointly deliver three 880 MW transformer stations for Dominion Energy's Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind wind turbine project. But this order is not the only one that Bladt Industries has secured for the project.

Dominion Energy has also placed an order with Bladt for 176 TPs (transition pieces), making the order the largest TP order in the company's history, the company said in a press release.

- It's a big day for us at Bladt Industries. The order is the largest in our history and will occupy a large part of our capacity in the coming years, says Anders Søe-Jensen, CEO of Bladt Industries.

To Nordjyske, Søe-Jensen specifies that the current capacity will not be enough to fulfill the order either. Thus, the 450 employees at the factory in Aalborg can look forward to new colleagues.

- Initially, it secures work for our current employees until mid-2025, but we will also have to hire more - it won't be many - but we need to bring in more employees, Anders Søe-Jensen tells the newspaper.

Production of the TPs will start in 2023, and according to the plan, the last ones will be sent to the USA in 2025. The TPs are each up to 30 meters long and eight meters in diameter and weigh between 540 and 570 tons.

The Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project will be established just over 40 km from Virginia Beach and, with its capacity of 2.6 GW, can supply up to 660,000 households in Virginia.
