THISTED: Shortly after the New Year, it was announced that former minister and member of parliament for the Liberal Party Kristian Jensen has been nominated as the new port chairman for Hanstholm Port. Now the municipal council of Thisted Municipality has also appointed three more business profiles to join the port's board. The port writes this in a press release.
These are Søren Mattesen, Marianne Nielsen and Lone Saaby. Who bring different experiences to the table: Søren is currently CEO of the fish farming company Sashimi Royal. Marianne Nielsen has more than 30 years of experience from management positions in the private business sector, including Ericsson and IBM, and has been Director of Operations and Infrastructure at the banking center SDC since 2014. Lone Saaby is the director of the Danish Safety Technology Authority for the seventh year and has board experience from the Museums of Southwest Jutland and the Danish Stalking Center.
In addition, the new port board will consist of the deputy mayor of Thisted Municipality, Jens Kristian Yde (K), a representative from the Hanstholm Fishing Association, whose chairman is Jan N. Hansen, and an employee representative from Hanstholm Port, where service manager Kristian Bjerregaard has been elected.
In connection with the presentation of Kristian Jensen as port chairman, the incoming chairman announced that he was committed to the port having more focus on sustainability.
- The Port of Hanstholm must continue to be a fishing port, but at the same time I see a fantastic opportunity to also stand on other legs. It must be energy and sustainability, but it can also be processing, tourism and other new paths. We have a huge opportunity for development, said Kristian Jensen.
The new port board will officially take office after a constituent board meeting, which is expected to be held on March 1st.
