Verdo will sell Verdo Go Green and Verdo Teknik and in the future concentrate on district heating, water and electricity production. At the same time, Verdo Energy Systems will continue as an independent company in the group. This is stated by Verdo Energi og Forsyning in a press release.

Although the annual accounts for Verdo have not yet been published, the background for the separation and divestments must be found in the upcoming annual result, which shows a deficit of DKK 306 million in 2025. The deficit is mainly due to a difficult year in Verdo Energy Systems. Here, large turnkey contracts have proven significantly more expensive to implement than assumed when they were concluded.

At the same time, the liquidation of Verdo Trading and an unsatisfactory result in Verdo Teknik have contributed negatively to the overall result. The organizational change is also an extension of the strategic change that Verdo initiated in 2025, where the goal is to create a more focused company towards 2030.

According to Verdo, external factors also play a role. The energy market is undergoing significant change, and geopolitical unrest has created greater uncertainty and affected the framework conditions for the business. At the same time, the company points to an industry in flux, where consolidation and acquisitions are playing a greater role, making it more difficult for smaller business areas to stand alone.

- We need to return to the core business and a more focused Verdo. We have conducted a number of in-depth analyses for our various divisions and departments, and they have all pointed in the same direction: Verdo is strongest in the energy market of the future if we return to our core business, which is the supply of heat and water as well as electricity production at the combined heat and power plant at Randers Harbour, says Jesper Vinter Barslund, CEO of Verdo.

Verdo Go Green delivers electricity and charging solutions to private individuals, companies and housing associations, while Verdo Teknik works with, among other things, street lights, signaling systems and electrical installations. Both areas are expected to be sold off, while Verdo Energy Systems will focus on automation, service and smaller projects in the future, thus opting out of large turnkey assignments.

- There is currently a consolidation in the market, where Verdo Go Green and Verdo Teknik will in many ways be better served and have more opportunities in the future by being under different wings than Verdo's, explains the CEO.

According to Verdo, the changes will have no impact on utility customers or heating prices. The complete annual accounts for Verdo's 2025 will be published on May 12, 2026.
