Flemming Horn Nielsen will become the new CEO of Nordsøfonden from 1 July 2026 after a career of around 30 years in the oil and gas industry, where he has worked for, among others, Mærsk, Ørsted and Ineos. Nordsøfonden informs in a press release.

- I am pleased to announce that Flemming Horn Nielsen will start as CEO of Nordsøfonden on 1 July. He brings with him solid management and business experience over the past 36 years, which will be of great benefit to Nordsøfonden, says Chairman of the Board of Nordsøfonden, Christian Frigast.

Flemming Horn Nielsen is 60 years old and has a degree in engineering and has had assignments both offshore in the North Sea and internationally, with postings in Qatar, the Netherlands and England. He has also been country manager for Ørsted's oil and gas business in Denmark. Most recently, he was CEO of Resource Denmark. But now he is returning to the energy industry.

- I thank the board of Nordsøfonden for giving me this opportunity to take on the role of director of the company. I really look forward to the collaboration with the employees and all the stakeholders surrounding Nordsøfonden, says Flemming Horn Nielsen, the incoming director of Nordsøfonden.

He takes over the position from Adrian Lübbert, who resigned from the position on 31 March 2026 to take up the position of director of the Danish Energy Agency. Until he takes up the position, the directorship will be held by board member Christian Herskind.
