Plan & Byg

The electricity company Cerius is investing a three-digit million amount in the electricity grid around Holbæk as part of an increasing electrification among both companies and private individuals.

The investment will be used, among other things, to expand central transformer stations and establish new power cables in the area. The purpose is to ensure that the electricity grid can handle growing demand from, among other things, transport and heating, where more people are switching to electricity-based solutions.

- We are experiencing a large growth in demand from, among other things, private households as well as the heating sector and transport as they electrify. It is Cerius' task to ensure that our part of the electricity grid can meet the needs of customers and the development that we are looking into. This investment will ensure a massive upgrade of the entire electricity distribution network in the Holbæk area, which also constitutes an important hub in relation to the whole of western Zealand and Odden, says Frederik Dalgård Andersen, Planning Manager at Cerius, in a press release.

The work is being carried out by the operating company Nexel and will, among other things, involve excavation work on road sections. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.
