Danish energy group Eurowind Energy has placed a major order with Vestas for the supply and installation of 23 V162-6.2 MW EnVentus wind turbines for three wind farms in Romania: Frumu?i?a, Vector and Pecineaga Northeast. The total capacity is 143 MW, and the order also includes a 20-year service agreement under Vestas’ Active Output Management 5000 program.

The order comes at a time when Romania is accelerating its green transition through regulatory reforms, upcoming CfD auctions and grid improvements. Vestas, which has had a presence in Romania since 2009, has today installed over 1.5 GW of capacity in the country and employs more than 550 people, including service engineers and staff at five service hubs and a regional training center.

The turbine deliveries are planned for the second half of 2026, and commissioning is expected in the second half of 2027. According to the companies, the projects are an important step in expanding renewable energy production in the region.

- Romania is a core market for us, and we are pleased to take the next step with this order. Frumu?i?a, Vector and Pecineaga Northeast are very important projects for us, and we look forward to building on our long-standing collaboration with Vestas by realizing the projects together, says Morten Gaarde, Director for EPC at Eurowind Energy, in a press release.

The order for Eurowind is not the only one from the Romanian market that Vestas presented on Monday. An undisclosed customer has ordered eight V117-3.45 MW turbines with a total capacity of 28 MW as well as a 20-year AOM 4000 service agreement. These turbines are scheduled to be delivered in the first quarter of 2027 and are expected to be in operation by the end of the year.
