Vestas shares rise on record order

Vestas announced before the stock exchange opened on Thursday that the company had won its largest order for onshore wind turbines to date. The order was received in Brazil, is for a total of 1310 megawatts and has a 25-year AOM 5000 service agreement attached. In addition, Vestas also received an order in Argentina for 162 MW on Thursday.

With the two orders, Vestas has so far announced orders for 2164 MW in the first quarter. In the same quarter last year, Vestas announced large orders for 2179 MW in addition to smaller orders totaling 769 MW. This puts Vestas close to the consensus among analysts for order intake in the quarter.

- It was perhaps not entirely surprising that the large order came - it had been announced in advance. But it helped to pull the share up. And I also think that it helped pull Ørsted up - at least I haven't seen anything new about it today, says Ole Kjær Jensen.

Vestas shares rose 5.2 percent to DKK 198.32. Ørsted shares rose 4.6 percent to DKK 577.50.
