The 240 MW offshore wind turbine project Jammerland Bugt Kystnær Havmøllepark, owned by TotalEnergis and European Energy, is now one step closer to realization. The Danish Energy Agency has today, Friday, approved the feasibility study report, which consists of an environmental impact report for the wind project. The agency states this in a press release.
"The Danish Energy Agency's approval of the feasibility study report does not give the project developer, Jammerland Bay Nearshore A/S (represented by European Energy), who is the developer, the right to build the offshore wind turbine farm. However, the approval gives the developer the opportunity to proceed to the next steps in the application process, including applying for an establishment permit," the release states.
The offshore wind farm includes the establishment of 16 - 21 wind turbines with a total capacity of 240 MW in Jammerland Bugt within an area of approx. 31 km2, located 6-8 km from the coast. The total project area for the marine part is approximately 34.5 km2 and also includes a cable corridor for laying power cables ashore of approx. 3.5 km2.
The cable corridor for onshore cables will extend from the landfall point on the coast to the south to a transformer station, which is planned to be established on land at the refinery in Kalundborg and further north to Asnæsværket.
The Danish Energy Agency will only make a final decision on whether an establishment permit can be granted for the project once a public consultation has been conducted on the environmental impact report, the developer's application for an establishment permit and the draft establishment permit.
If Jammerland Bay Nearshore applies for an establishment permit as expected, an eight-week public consultation is expected to be initiated immediately before Easter 2024.
The Jammerland Bugt Offshore Wind Farm was one of the few projects that survived the closure of the open door scheme.
