Ørsted A/S has called an annual general meeting, to be held on April 9, 2026. All members elected by the general meeting are up for election, but two do not wish to stand for re-election. Therefore, three new candidates have been nominated to the board of directors to replace two retiring members, Ørsted A/S informs in a press release.

The two members who are not re-nominated are Judith Hartmann and Annica Bresky. The board of directors therefore nominates Karen Boesen, Samuel Leupold and Karl Johnny Hersvik as new members. In the notice of the general meeting, Ørsted emphasizes that all three candidates have significant international management experience from the energy sector and related industries.

Karen Boesen is Group CFO of DFDS and has previously held leading roles in, among others, TotalEnergies and A.P. Møller – Mærsk as well as experience from the former DONG Energy group. Samuel Leupold has held leading roles within renewable energy, including as Group Director of Offshore Wind at Ørsted, and has also been CEO of energy companies. Karl Johnny Hersvik is CEO of Aker BP and has a background from, among others, Equinor and Norsk Hydro with a focus on energy and offshore.

- We are pleased to be able to nominate three such strong candidates for the board. All three bring unique management experience from international groups and the energy industry, says Lene Skole, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ørsted A/S.

There is also one change among the three employee representatives on the board. Ruchit Majmudar, Lead Venture Manager, Commercial is thus a newly elected member for a four-year period, while Benny Gøbel, Senior Mechanical Specialist, Generation, and Pawel Matysiak, Solutions Manager, Finance & Digital Technology are re-elected.
