The Unity List wants to help Danes who are pressured by rising oil and gas prices by introducing an immediate price cap. This is according to the party's political spokesman, Pelle Dragsted.

- There are still hundreds of thousands of Danes who are dependent on this very uncertain and fluctuating oil and gas, and who are currently sitting with their hair in their mailboxes, and we do not think we can leave them on the platform, he says.

The financial assistance will require that the households in question can document that they are switching to green heating when possible.

Specifically, the Unity List proposes that you can be entitled to a price cap on gas if you can document that you are registered for a district heating project. However, there is a cap on who will be part of the Red-Green Alliance's price cap, says Dragsted.

- Very wealthy families should not be included in this price cap. We think it is good that there is an incentive (to save energy, ed.). They can afford to connect to district heating or get a heat pump where necessary, he says.

The Red-Green Alliance proposes a cap on the gas price of 0.70 øre per kilowatt-hour and the oil price of 11 kroner per liter for households with oil and gas boilers in district heating areas.

The price cap will apply until the new heat source is established. During that period, citizens will be able to seek reimbursement for the part of their heating bill that exceeds the price cap.
