Until March 19, citizens, companies and authorities have the opportunity to make suggestions on what should be included in the considerations when a strategic environmental assessment of the plan for the Hesselø Offshore Wind Farm and the environmental assessment of the specific onshore construction project are to be carried out.
After the consultation, the Danish Energy Agency and the Danish Environmental Protection Agency will, among other things, decide on the basis of the consultation responses which topics and environmental impacts should be highlighted in the SEA and the EIA, respectively. The results of these environmental assessments are expected to be presented in a second public consultation, which will take place in 2022. The EIA of the specific project at sea will be carried out in the period 2023-24, when the winner of the tender for the Hesselø Offshore Wind Farm has been selected.
The schedule for the completion of the Hesselø Offshore Wind Farm was brought forward this summer from 2028 to 2027. Hesselø is planned to have an effect of between 800-1,200 MW and will be located in Hesselø Bugt at least 30 km from the coast of North Zealand.
