After months of interim management, the Danish Energy Agency has a permanent solution in place. It has been found in the form of Adrian Lübbert, who has taken up his position as the new director of the Danish Energy Agency as of today. This is stated by the agency in a post on LinkedIn.
Adrian Lübbert comes from a position as director of the state-owned company Nordsøfonden. A position he only managed to hold for nine months. Previously, he was head of department at the Ministry of Finance, where he worked with energy, climate and supply, among other things.
- I am both very proud and humbled by the opportunity to lead the Energy Agency. The Danish Energy Agency plays a central role in society within climate, energy and supply. These are areas that are of enormous importance for everything from the everyday lives of individual families to the green transition as well as the competitiveness of the business community and Denmark. Both now and in the future. I look forward to getting to know the Agency's talented employees and the organization and continuing the Energy Agency's important work within the green transition, stable supply and a robust energy sector in a changing world, says Adrian Lübbert, Director of the Danish Energy Agency.
The change of director became relevant after the former Director of the Danish Energy Agency, Kristoffer Böttzauw, resigned from his position at the end of September 2025 after a total of 10 years on the Executive Board, including seven years as Director.
He has since taken up a position as Director of Distribution and Regulation at the energy company Andel. In the period from his resignation until Adrian Lübbert's appointment, Deputy Director Stig Uffe Pedersen has served as Director.
