Skovgaard Energy has entered into an agreement with Danske Commodities to balance the energy consumption at the PtX plant REDDAP (Renewable Dynamic Distributed Ammonia Plant) in Ramme in West Jutland. Skovgaard Energy announced this in a press release.
The REDDAP plant produces green ammonia based on power from six wind turbines and a 50 MW solar park via direct connection. Skovgaard Energy's plant in Ramme is a dynamic PtX plant that continuously adapts to fluctuations in production from renewable energy sources. This is to ensure more efficient use of energy and reduce the need for storage.
As a balancing partner, Danske Commodities will optimize the plant's electricity consumption and contribute with market insight and algorithmic control.
- We are pleased that Danske Commodities has shown great willingness to cooperate by acting as balance responsible for REDDAP. Danske Commodities will contribute important knowledge about the market and, together with green.ai/asset Energy Management Software, ensure full optimization across the different technologies at the plant with regard to both the electricity grid and the business, says Peder i Dali, Business Development Manager at Skovgaard Energy.
The plant is expected to produce 5,000 tons of green ammonia annually, which according to the company can reduce CO2 emissions by 8,200 tons. REDDAP delivered its first production in December 2025.
