Lots of wind would normally be an important factor for the giant turbine from Siemens Gamesa, which has been on its way from Siemens Gamesa's factory near Brande to the national test center in Østerild since last weekend. But the wind is currently postponing the transport.
The first two stages of the transport have been via road and sea. The third stage, which will bring the turbine from Hanstholm and the last 22 km to the test center, was supposed to start on Monday, but wind postponed the transport until Tuesday. But it is still windy on Tuesday, and therefore the turbine will not be leaving today either. Thus, the Danish Road Directorate has now granted permission for the special transport on Wednesday, December 18th between 8 am and 4 pm, writes TV Midtvest.
When the transport of the turbine, which is divided into three parts, finally gets underway, it will extend over three days, as part of the transport will be carried out per day. The turbine will have an output of 21 MW and will rise more than 300 meters into the air when it is completed in the Østerild Test Center.
