DMI warned on Sunday and Monday night that storm Sif would reach hurricane-force winds in North Jutland. This announcement will also have an impact on the transport of a new giant Siemens Gamesa turbine. Even though the wind will subside a little later on Monday, it is still too strong for the turbine to be transported on the roads in North Jutland starting from Hanstholm Harbour.
Specifically, the weather means a delay in three huge wind turbine parts that have been on their way from Brande since last weekend, writes TV Midtvest. This is the last stage of the transport of approximately 22 km. The final station is the National Test Center for Large Wind Turbines in Østerild. But according to TV Midtvest's information, the transport has now been postponed, so it will not start until Tuesday at the earliest and will last for three days. According to the plan, the transport should have started today.
The weather is due to a warm front heading into Denmark from the west. It is followed by a strong westerly wind.
