Vestas has secured an order from Tilt Renewables to supply 18 wind turbines for the Waddi Wind Farm in Western Australia. The project will have a total capacity of 108 MW and will contribute to strengthening the region's energy grid and supporting the state's strategy for a more secure and sustainable electricity supply. Vestas announced this in a press release.
The order includes the supply and installation of 18 V162-6.0 MW EnVentus wind turbines with a hub height of 125 meters and a 30-year service agreement to ensure stable, long-term electricity supply to both local communities and industry.
- The Waddi project is clear evidence of Vestas' commitment to delivering large-scale wind projects that accelerate the energy transition in Australia. The partnership with Tilt Renewables continues to raise the bar for operational reliability and technical quality, and we are proud that our technology supports Western Australia's goal of a stronger and cleaner energy supply, says Purvin Patel, regional president of Vestas in Asia Pacific.
Delivery of turbine components will begin in the first quarter of 2027, with commissioning expected in the third quarter of the same year. Waddi Wind Farm, located approximately 200 kilometers north of Perth, is expected to create over 150 jobs during the construction phase and six permanent positions when the farm is operational.
