Iran warns of attacks on oil facilities in the region

Iran has issued an evacuation warning for several oil facilities in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar on Wednesday.

This is reported by Iranian state media according to Reuters.

The facilities will be hit by attacks "in the coming hours", it says.

- These centers have become direct and legitimate targets and will be hit in the coming hours. Therefore, all citizens, residents and employees are urged to leave these areas immediately, the Iranian warning says.

The warning from Iran comes after reports of American-Israeli attacks on Iranian oil facilities in South Pars and Asaluyeh.

Oil prices rose sharply on Wednesday after the attacks.

Brent oil from the North Sea rose by more than five percent to around $109 per barrel, according to the AFP news agency.

This corresponds to approximately 705 Danish kroner.
