The electricity company N1 has Carsten Toft Boesen as a new member of the board. He has just left the position as CEO of the engineering consultancy company NIRAS, where he held the position for 25 years. This is stated by N1 in a press release.
Carsten Toft Boesen has concurrently held a number of board positions, including in the Confederation of Danish Industry, Roskilde University and the Danish Technological Institute. From 2026 he has also been chairman of the NIRAS Foundation.
N1 operates the country's geographically largest electricity grid and supplies more than 820,000 households and businesses in most of Jutland with electricity. The company is facing several large construction projects, as electrification increases the need for expansion of the electricity grid.
- In recent years, N1 has invested the largest amounts we have ever seen in future-proofing the electricity grid. Carsten has a unique insight into working with large construction projects and critical infrastructure and experience in establishing collaborations across various stakeholders in order to succeed. This is one of the areas where we will need to make further efforts in the coming years to continue to move forward in line with the rapid electrification of our society, says Anders Stouge, Chairman of the Board of Directors of N1.
In 2025, N1 invested DKK 1.6 billion in the electricity grid, and this year the company expects to invest around DKK 2 billion. In connection with Carsten Toft Boesen's appointment, Peder Ø. Andreasen, who has been a member of the board since 2022, will step down.
