A year ago, Aalborg Forsyning chose to fire its CEO of 11 years, Søren Gais Kjeldsen, with immediate effect, as the board did not consider him to be the right person for the further development. Since then, Jesper Høstgaard-Jensen has been acting CEO.
Now, Jesper Høstgaard-Jensen can remove "acting" from his title, because he has now been appointed permanent CEO of Aalborg Forsyning after having been acting in the position for the past year. The utility company announced this in a press release.
Jesper Høstgaard-Jensen will thus be responsible for leading the municipally owned multi-utility company with over 500 employees, which supplies heating, gas, cooling and water and handles rainwater and wastewater. There were 66 applicants for the position, and the selection was made after a recruitment process carried out in collaboration with an external recruitment company.
- We have had a large and competent field of applicants, which underlines that Aalborg Forsyning is an attractive company. After a thorough process, the board of directors has no doubt that Jesper is the right choice to continue the positive development in Aalborg Forsyning, says Lasse Olsen, chairman of the board of directors of Aalborg Forsyning.
Jesper Høstgaard-Jensen has a degree in chemical engineering from DTU and has also studied management in Gothenburg, Singapore and Copenhagen, among others. He has been employed by Aalborg Forsyning for ten years, first as deputy director and then as technical director. Previously, he was production director at Aalborg Portland.
- I am both pleased and proud of the trust that the board of directors has shown in me. Aalborg Forsyning is a strong company with skilled employees who are responsible for a wide range of socially important supply tasks that are of great importance to our customers' everyday lives, says Jesper Høstgaard-Jensen.
